Course Overview

WorkReady is an accredited provider of Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism Tier 1. This concise online course is designed to equip health and social care professionals with the essential knowledge and skills required to deliver high-quality, person-centred care to individuals with learning disabilities and autism. It is suitable for all staff involved in supporting these individuals.

The training is named in memory of Oliver McGowan, a young man whose tragic death underscored the urgent need for enhanced awareness, understanding, and expertise among health and social care practitioners in meeting the needs of autistic people and those with learning disabilities.

The course is fully aligned with the learning outcomes specified in the Department of Health and Social Care’s publication Right to be Heard (2019) and the Core Capabilities Framework for Supporting People with a Learning Disability and Supporting Autistic People.
